Eligible cat owners can get their animals desexed at a subsidised rate following the resumption of the Campbelltown Cooperative Desexing Program at the Campbelltown Animal Care Facility (ACF).
Anyone who lives in the Campbelltown LGA and is a pensioner or earning below $25,000 a year can get their cats desexed at a subsidised rate as part of the program which is funded under the National Desexing Network (NDN) Cooperative Desexing Program.
Cats should be desexed from two to three months old as they can become pregnant from four months old.
Desexing of the first female cat costs $65 and all additional cats are $50 while male cats cost $55. There is no limit on the number of cats that can be desexed per household.
All cats must be microchipped either before or at the time of desexing. People participating in the NDN program can have their cats microchipped for $10 at the ACF or participating vets.
To enrol in the program call the National Desexing Network on 1300 38 992.
