Public Notice – Standing for Council / Election Briefing Session

Are you interested in finding out what it takes to be an elected member and how the election process works?

Elections are being held in the Shire of Perenjori on October 172020 to return control of the Council to elected members.

Potential candidates are encouraged to attend an Election Briefing Session at the Shire of Perenjori offices on 56 Fowler Street on Wednesday August 19.

The session will commence at 4:00 PM and will include;

Representatives from the WA Electoral Commission – who will discuss the electoral process, including eligibility, nomination, postal voting and declaring the election;Council Commissioner the Hon. Paul Omodei and key council staff – outlining current council strategies, challenges and opportunities and providing insight into the daily functioning of the Council, as well as what you can expect in terms of the time required, personal commitment and corporate responsibilities.A chance to ask questions about standing for Council.
