Council has continued to improve in key areas according to the results of the 2020 Customer Satisfaction Survey of residents.
The Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey is an independent annual phone survey which measures residents’ perceptions of the performance of their local council.
The independent survey is coordinated by Local Government Victoria on behalf of councils across Victoria and participation is optional. Results are benchmarked against a state-wide average and similar local government areas, with Macedon Ranges classified as a large rural shire.
The 2020 Macedon Ranges results are generally positive, with favourable results in many individual service areas. Notably, significant improvement has been achieved in the overall performance, overall direction and customer service categories.
Macedon Ranges Shire also ranked significantly higher than the large rural shires and state-wide average in relation to waste management, which is an impressive result in a year where our new waste management process was introduced.
Chief Executive Officer, Margot Stork said the survey showed that the community appreciated some of the great work being done as well as outlining areas for further improvement.
“It is pleasing to see our performance on par with the state average,” Ms Stork said. “It’s also valuable to gain perspective from the community on where we may further improve.”
