The creek crossing will be upgraded as part of the project
Western Downs Regional Council will soon commence works to bolster the Myall Creek crossing on Dixon Street, Dalby as part of a wider project to upgrade the road and enhance connectivity in the area.
Construction is scheduled to commence in early August, with the next phase of upgrades to include extending the concrete floodway crossing.
Council Spokesperson for Works and Technical Services Councillor George Moore said the upgrades would ensure a safer and more resilient creek crossing and deliver a future-proof road connection for residents.
“This phase of works is part of a larger project to bitumen upgrade the gravel section of Dixon Street between Wambo Street and Sandalwood Avenue,” he said.
“To complete the creek crossing concrete works, this section of road will be temporarily closed, with alternate routes in place for southern town access via Branch Creek Road.
“The closure will be in place for approximately 10 business days, weather permitting.
“Detour signage will be in place, and I urge residents to drive carefully and adhere to the changed conditions.
“I thank the community for its patience as we carry out these important improvements.”
