Frankston City Residents can apply for foreshore parking permits online from Monday 10 August.
The new permits will allow the City’s residential ratepayers and tenants to park for free at Frankston and Seaford foreshores.
Frankston City Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said the new registration process was endorsed by Council at the May 2020 Ordinary Meeting.
“Our new, paperless system is a more simplified approach than sending permits out with rates notices, as has been done in the past.
“It means we aren’t printing unrequired permits, can keep accurate records and provide a better customer experience. It also makes it easier for eligible residents to receive a replacement permit if they move home or purchase a new vehicle.”
The Mayor added that the new, contactless system meant residents did not need to visit Council Service Centres unnecessarily during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As you know, our service centres are closed while stage three restrictions are in place. The new foreshore parking permit system will continue once they reopen so you can apply from the comfort and safety of your own home.
“It is as easy as filling in a quick, three question online form and your permit will be mailed to you.”
Residential ratepayers are entitled to two permits which will be valid until September 2023. If additional vehicles are registered at the address, up to three further permits can be purchased. Residents will be asked to provide their full name and address upon application.
Tenant permits are valid for one year from the date of issue, with a maximum of two issued per property. Tenants are required to provide proof of identity and address upon application.
Current foreshore parking permits expire in September 2020.
