Car parking, the sale of land and inclusion of the Playhouse in focus for planning the new community hub.

We are preparing a draft Hampton Public Land Masterplan that recommends the long term direction for all 13 Council-owned sites within the Hampton precinct. These include the library, car parks, Community Centre, Playhouse, Senior Citizens Centre, Maternal and Child Health Centre and Scout Hall.

We are seeking feedback from the community on three key aspects of the plan where feedback has been divided in the past, this includes:

Inclusion of the Hampton Playhouse; Sale of public land (out of 13 identified sites); and Proposal to build a multi-deck car park between Service Street and Thomas Street funded by Federal Government.

Your response to these key areas will determine how we move forward. If these elements are not supported, then we will need to revise the plans and look at other ways to facilitate the development of a community hub.

Feedback closes on Sunday 9 August 2020.
