Winners of the 2020 Du Rietz Art Awards were just announced on The Gympie Regional Gallery’s Facebook page.
Winners shared in over $13,000 in prizes over eight awards.
170 high quality artworks were received by artists from Victoria, New South Wales, Canberra, Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland.
Marjan Bakhtiarikish took home the major 2D Award valued at $6,000 for her entry titled Hope.
Ken Munsie won the major 3D Award valued at $3,000 for his work titled Library of the Orient.
The Bendigo Bank Locals Award valued at $3,000 was awarded to local artist Miriam Innes for her work titled Where were you when…
Four sub-awards were also handed out valued at $1,645.
The Roy Skinner Works on Paper Award sponsored by Anne Skinner went to Kenneth Inwood for his work titled The Pocket Book.
The Bryan Moore Memorial Ceramic Award went to Paula Bowie for her work titled Afterlife.
The Locals Encouragement Award went to Ian Gunn for his work titled Silenced.
The Ceramic Encouragement Award went to Carol Forster for her work titled Gumnut Story.
