A leadfoot driver has been charged for speeding almost 60kph above the limit on the highway. Police said that on August 3, a 58-year-old Mornington man was intercepted by Mount Isa Road Policing Unit along the Barkly Highway near Mount Isa, allegedly travelling 159km/h in a 100km/h zone . The man was fined $1245 and eight demerit points. His licence was also suspended for six months.
