Share your big ideas for Campbelltown’s public spaces

Campbelltown residents with big ideas to improve local parks, streets and public facilities are being encouraged to enter the Committee for Sydney’s Public Spaces Ideas Competition.

The competition aims to get people thinking creatively about where they live and how their public spaces could be better used.

To enter, people can submit a 250-word description of their idea and an image which could be a detailed rendering, sketch, drawing or any other image which showcases their idea.

“We know our residents are passionate about their city and the streets they live in,” said Mayor George Brticevic.

“If you’ve ever had an idea for something that could be done to enhance your street, your favourite local park or one of our public facilities then this is your opportunity to share it with government and industry experts,” Cr Brticevic said.

“Campbelltown is a city of potential that can be further unlocked with the big ideas of the residents who know the possibilities of its hidden gems,” he said.

Award categories include best public facility, best open space, best street and/or plaza, best temporary and/or low-cost public space and best resilient public space ideas.

There is also a Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Award, Student Award, Children and Young People Award and People’s Choice Award available.

Entries close Tuesday 28 August. A jury will select the winner for each category who will be invited to an award ceremony in October.
