Long-term Campbelltown residents have been honoured for their contributions to the city through the Campbelltown City Jubilee Awards.
The awards recognise residents who have lived in Campbelltown for 50 years or more or 30 years or more for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents within our community.
Eighteen residents have been delivered a certificate and signed letter from Mayor George Brticevic along with a medallion and fringe lily seedling. The fringe lily is a perennial herb that is indigenous to the Macarthur region and is the official Campbelltown 2020 remembrance flower.
“I was delighted that we were still able to honour our long-time residents and mark this special occasion by delivering the awards and memorabilia to their homes,” Cr Brticevic said.
“Campbelltown is such an amazing place to live in because our residents are a friendly and community-minded people and this is evident through the recipients of this year’s awards,” He said.
The annual Campbelltown City Jubilee Awards ceremony will return next year when COVID-19 restrictions are eased.
