The new grandstand and associated facilities are an exciting addition for Olympic Kingsway Sports Club, further enhancing the sporting complex’s reputation as a state-of-the-art facility in the area.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts, who officially opened the new grandstand on Saturday, 15 August, said, “I know the club is working towards increasing its female membership and these new amenities will enable further growth in this area.”

“The new facilities will not only benefit the club, but also users from further afield, including those participating in state and national tournaments.

“The City of Wanneroo was pleased to contribute $2.9 million to the construction and is grateful to the Federal Government for its Community Development Grant of $200,000. I would also like to thank Bollig Design Group and McCorkell Construction WA for their expertise in successfully delivering this project.”

The upgrade includes a new grandstand overlooking the main soccer pitch, with a range of facilities including four change rooms, a referee’s room, physiotherapy room, storage for sporting and cleaning equipment, new male and female toilets, and a parenting room.

An additional building comprising change rooms, toilets and storage areas has also been constructed to service soccer pitches 2 and 3.

The State Government recently announced a separate $2.66 million commitment to facilities at the Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex, including improved lighting.

The City thanks Olympic Kingsway Sports Club for its understanding during the construction works.
