Work on the Lake Cargelligo Showground amenities and stables is proceeding as planned, with construction of the new stables nearing completion.
Works are expected to be finished by the end of October and will provide a boost for showground users, particularly horse lovers in the Shire.
The upgrades are being funded under the Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Two and include the provision of a new amenities building with showers and the construction of 18 new horse stalls.
Lachlan Shire Council’s Manager Projects and Building Mr Guy Marchant said, “The stables are coming together quite quickly and will be an asset to the showground, particularly with those users with horses. It is also pleasing to see that Council has been able to utilise a local construction company to undertake the construction of both the new amenities building and the stables. This helps boost employment in Lake Cargelligo, particularly taking into consideration the impact COVID-19 restrictions are having.”
