Showcasing Harvey through performing arts
Shire of Harvey 24 Aug 2020

The performing arts team at Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre, along with partners from the Shire, the WA College of Agriculture and Headspace show how performing arts can change lives and help with serious community issues.

In August 2019 the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre hosted a show called 52 Hertz a reference to the famous “loneliest whale in the world,” and this sparked much-needed conversation around mental health in the community.

This video shows how the community in Harvey handled some of the mental health challenges at the time, particularly in young people and the importance of performing arts in regional towns.

The video was produced by Rythym Content and Circuit West.
