Lithgow City Council is calling for nominations to our Youth advisory committee known as the Youth Council. If you’re a young person between the ages of 12 and 24 and you live, work or study in the Lithgow LGA we want you! Nominations are open now and close on September 30.

Youth Council is a group of young people who are passionate about improving the lives of young people in our region. They come from all areas in our LGA and bring a wealth of ideas, interests and talents. Working together they organise the annual Youth Week events, advise Lithgow City Council on issues that are important to young people and have consulted with state and national agencies regarding the impacts of recent drought, bushfires and covid-19 on our communities.

Youth Council meets on the third Monday of each month at 4:00pm.

“There’s no point in us telling the young people of the region what they want and need, we really need to hear from them,” says Mayor Ray Thompson. “They are the ones who understand the issues faced by our young people and they have brilliant ideas about how to improve their lives.”
