Here in Freo we're spoilt for choice when it comes to places to exercise your dog.

From long stretches of beach to beautiful nature reserves, there is something to suit dogs of all kinds and sizes!

We've pulled together our top four favourite places, with each offering their own unique features to enjoy.

Stevens Reserve  FREMANTLE

Stevens Reserve’s large open field is the perfect space to throw a ball for your best bud.

Off to the side is an agility course to teach your dog new tricks while the fencing along Stevens Street keeps playtime safe.

Not just a dog park, Stevens Reserve is also home to WA’s best cricket wickets outside of the WACA.

Dog owners are asked to share the space with the sporting community by keeping dogs off the playing and practice pitches at all times and on lead during matches and training sessions.

Sir Frederick Samson Park SAMSON

Sir Frederick Samson Reserve is a unique place to walk your four-legged friend, stretching over 14 hectares of natural bushland and home to more than 30 species of birds.

You can walk your pooch on lead through the bush trails, while the open grass in the middle of the reserve is an off lead zone to romp freely.

South Beach dog beach SOUTH FREMANTLE

South Beach attracts dog lovers in droves and for good reason.

The 410m stretch of beach is perfect for a stroll, before heading up to the cafes along the reserve for your morning brew and brekky.

Just remember to stick to the footpaths on the southern end as the grassed area is a dog-free zone.

Soak up more of the South Freo vibes by going for a walk along South Terrace and stopping off at the many dog-friendly bars and cafes that line the strip.

Leighton Beach dog beach NORTH FREMANTLE

The long stretch from Leighton Beach to Mosman Park dog beach is a popular walk for dog owners.

The beach is peppered with friendly locals walking their dogs in the mornings and evenings, while the warmer weather bringing plenty of people – and dogs – into the water.

You can also spot the iconic Dingo Flour Mill mural just down the road!
