As part of Dementia Awareness Month, the City of Swan is supporting a program of events to both educate and support people about managing life with dementia. All events are free to attend.

Dementia Care Navigator

Finding information about government-funded aged care services can be complicated. The Dementia Care Navigator is a service that aims to make it simpler for Australians to learn about government-supported aged care services and how to access them.

Register for a Dementia Care Navigator information session to learn more. Presented by Dementia Australia with light refreshments.

Join the Swan Valley Memory Café for a relaxed chat to help grow your support network. A representative from Dementia Australia will be on hand to answer any of your questions.

Open to people living with dementia, their carers and family members.

Come along to the Ballajura Library for this special edition of Cuppa and a Chat, presented by Dementia Australia. This session will provide you with information on how memory works, common memory changes with ageing, factors that can impact on memory, strategies for improving memory, ways to look after your brain, when to seek help about your memory concerns and services Dementia Australia provides. Light refreshments provided.

Understanding Dementia

This session will provide an introduction to dementia, types of dementia, diagnosis, planning ahead and becoming a dementia friend.

Open to anyone who has an interest in learning more about dementia. Light refreshments provided.
