Unleash your inner scientist this week and celebrate National Science Week by entering the Moree Community Library’s science quiz competition!
The quiz is open to library members of all ages, consisting of 20 science questions relating to the natural world, space and human body.
Sally Walters, Big Sky Libraries Manager is excited to see how many entries will be received for this year’s quiz.
“This year for National Science Week, the Moree Community Library is celebrating the world of science and encouraging families to put their minds to the test with our science quiz!
“While the Moree Community Library usually holds a Brain Break afternoon tea for children to attend for National Science Week, this year we have decided to run a quiz to ensure the events and competition facilitated by the Moree Community Library are Covid Safe.
“The aim is to inspire children to think about the different fields of science with the quiz asking a variety of questions relating to areas of biology, astronomy, zoology and geology.
“Entrants will go into the draw to win a telescope and science book pack, entrants who answer all 20 questions correctly will receive a bonus entry.
“The Moree Community Library has reached out to schools across the Shire to distribute hard copies of the entry forms, however if you cannot find a hard copy of the form in your child’s school bag, electronic copies are also available to download from the Moree Plains Shire Council’s website.
“The quiz is currently open until Monday 31 August and welcomes responses from library members of all ages”, concluded Mrs Walters.
To enter the competition, download the online entry form (or fish the hard copy out of your child’s school bag!) help them complete their answers and return the form to the Moree or Mungindi Library or email the answers, library membership number and full name to This email address is being protected from spambots.
