Call Ahead for Council’s Customer Service

Moree Plains Shire Council is encouraging community members to continue to call Customer Service to make payments and address concerns or enquiries over the phone, where possible.

While the Customer Service Centre in the Max Centre is open for face-to-face transactions, access to level 2 of the Max Centre is restricted requiring customers to call ahead of their visit to be able to access the Moree Customer Service Centre.

Council’s Acting Director of Corporate Services, Andrew Probert explained, “As the impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve, we are taking further steps to protect the safety of our staff, customers and community members.

“We have a series of questions which we ask our customers in advance of access to the Moree Customer Service Centre. This helps us to ensure customers have not recently visited any identified COVID-19 hotspots or display any related symptoms. 

Customers will be asked the following questions, if the answer is ‘yes’ to any of the below access will not be permitted to level 2 of the Max Centre and instead customers will be provided with full service over the phone:

Have you travelled to any other country in the past 14 days? Have you travelled to the state of Victoria in the past 14 days? Have you travelled to any NSW Hotspot/Increased Testing areas in the past 14 days? (List Attached) Have you been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient in the past 14 days? Do you currently have any of the following symptoms? Fever, dry cough, body ache, headache, sore throat, runny nose, tiredness, shortness of breath

Mr Probert confirmed, “These procedures are in place to protect the safety of our front line staff and minimise the risk of potentially spreading of the virus in our community. We thank community members for their understanding and assistance.”

Walk-in customers will be required to call Customer Service prior to entering level 2 of the Max Centre. Visitors are also reminded that use of the lift is limited to one (1) customer at a time.
