Macedon Ranges Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Margot Stork has announced she will be leaving the organisation.
Ms Stork said she was proud of the many achievements of the past three years while leading the organisation, including major strategic work on the Statement of Planning Policy and Hanging Rock Strategic Plan, and delivering organisational reform including a new values-based leadership structure.
Mayor, Cr Janet Pearce said Council appreciated the energy, commitment and focused work performed by Ms Stork in the past three years. “We acknowledge Ms Stork’s leadership as a true innovative and progressive thinker,” Cr Pearce said. “She is respected across the region, at all levels of government and has inspired many in the sector.
“Ms Stork has reshaped Council to be a stronger organisation looking to the future, and the breadth and depth of her achievements is a credit to her.”
Ms Stork was appointed to Council in November 2017 on a four-year contract. She has a strong background in leadership, stakeholder management and major project management at local and state government levels. Just prior to joining Council Ms Stork was awarded the prestigious NSW State Government Ministers’ Award for a Senior Woman in a Rural/Regional Council and was interim general manager of the newly formed Murray River Council.
Council will advise on future arrangements regarding the Chief Executive Officer position at a later date.
