Mildura Rural City Council is seeking feedback from Irymple residents and visitors as part of the first stage of the Irymple Structure Plan and Urban Design Framework Review 2020.
The project aims to provide long-term vision and action plans for Irymple, which will guide how the town develops, including future land use, built form and public spaces. It will focus on the area bounded by Sandilong and Morpung Avenues and Fourteenth and Sixteenth Streets.
Irymple residents and visitors to the town are invited to provide their thoughts and views on what they value, what is important to them, and what they want the town vision to be.
Residents can provide their feedback in two ways.
Online survey An online survey will open from Monday 7 September to Friday 18 September.
Online Community Workshop An online Community Workshop will be held on Wednesday 16 September from 6pm to 7.30pm. To register visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/IrympleSPUDF-OnlineWorkshopRegister
The study will include creation of a new town centre plan, providing clear actions for public realm improvements, which encompass the majority of everyday public spaces residents use to socialise, play, work, travel or exercise.
The new Irymple Structure Plan will better accommodate the changes and growth in the town since the previous plan was created in 2012.
These changes include new commercial and residential areas, changes to state and local planning policies and updated strategies which identify changes to growth patterns in the municipality.
The new structure plan will also be used to update relevant aspects of the Mildura Planning Scheme, which will help ensure the best economic, social and environmental outcomes for the Irymple area for the next 15 years.
