Applications are open for Eurobodalla Council’s annual trainee and apprenticeship intake.

Human resources officer Jenny Nardusso said there were 11 positions on offer this year.

“We have five youth business administration traineeships, five water operations traineeships and a carpentry apprenticeship,” Ms Nardusso said.

“For people under the age of 21, the one-year business administration traineeships are in the areas of development services, customer service, property and commercial, environmental services and children’s services.

“These are a terrific opportunity for young people to get a qualification and valuable work experience without leaving the shire.”

The two-year water operations traineeships – based in Narooma, Moruya, Tomakin or Batemans Bay – and the four-year carpentry apprenticeship are open to people of any age. Starting in February 2021, all positions combine on-the-job learning with formal study toward a qualification.

Ms Nardusso said Council will hold three online information sessions for applicants during September.

“It’s a chance for interested people to learn more about the positions, how to apply, tips on resume writing and responding to selection criteria, and the free support that is available to applicants,” she said.

“There’s no need to register, just join the session when it’s time to start.”

The one-hour information sessions will be held using Zoom from 5.30-6.30pm on Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Tuesday 15 September. To join, visit our events page.

Applications close at 4.30pm on Monday 21 September. For more information, visit our jobs page or contact Farann Bussa on 4474 1016 or [email protected]
