Fremantle residents are encouraged to nominate local heroes in the 2021 Community Citizen of the Year awards.
The City of Fremantle is calling for nominations across four categories: Citizen of the Year; Senior Citizen of the Year (65 years or over); Youth Citizen of the Year (under 25 years); and the Active Citizenship Award (community group or event).
Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the Community Citizen of the Year awards acknowledged individuals and organisations that have championed positive change in their local community.
“We have many incredible and inspiring role models who dedicate their lives to making a positive difference in our community,” Mayor Pettitt said.
“Outstanding contribution and community service include areas such as education, health, fundraising, volunteering, business, sport, arts, the environment, social inclusion or any other field that promotes the advancement and wellbeing of our community.
“This year, especially, we’ve seen countless groups and individuals make outstanding contributions to vulnerable people in the community and stand on the frontline in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I encourage anyone who knows someone like this to nominate them, so we can collectively celebrate their valuable contributions and promote their good cause.”
Nominating someone is easy, simply jump online and fill out a nomination form. Nominees should live or work within the City of Fremantle.
