The Shire of Coolgardie is proud to be a ‘small business friendly’ local government as endorsed by the Small Business Development Corporation.

Over 33 local governments participate in the initiative around the State and the Shire of Coolgardie is now the third local government in our region to participate.

This initiative, developed by the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC), formally recognises local governments that are demonstrating, or working towards, ‘better practice’ in engaging with their small business community.

By signing the Charter, the Shire has committed to delivering the following benefits to local businesses:

Go Local Campaign – currently being implemented on our Facebook page, the Go Local Campaign showcases local businesses within our community to help increase local spend. Small Business Workshops – this popular workshop series returns in 2020, with courses designed to teach local business operators about a variety of different topics. Last year, these Shire hosted numerous workshops including the Business Over Coffee networking event, Building Your Brand Online workshop as well as an ATO and ASIC information session. One-On-One appointments with Goldfields Business Local through the Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce – the Shire will facilitate meeting sessions with Goldfields Business Local who offer advice and support in all areas of business operations. Meetings are held at the Shire of Coolgardie Recreation Centres in Coolgardie and Kambalda.
