We’re seeking an enthusiastic people-person to join in the role of Community Relations Officer, based in Moranbah. Reporting to the Manager Community Engagement, Programs and Event, this position is responsible for the development of resilient communities by identifying the needs of residents and developing and implementing relevant programs and strategies to meet these needs. This position also provides advice and support to build capacity of community-based organisation and is responsible for building and maintaining beneficial relationships with key community and government stakeholders.
Along with building strong relationships with the Community, this position will be required to engage in community programs and events, be informed about and participate in a range of community building and development activities and celebrate essential communities-of-interest.
The successful candidate will have:
A strong community-focused ethos and be committed to Isaac Regional Council’s Vision and Values and the PECS Noble Purpose; Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and organisational skills; Strong face-to-face engagement capacity, including developed negotiation and influencing skills; Established knowledge and experience of community development and/or community engagement principles and methodologies; Experience in developing and implementing community events and capacity building projects; Strong understanding of community structures and systems; and A certification in community development and/or community engagement or other qualifications and demonstrated experience in a relevant community-based role, is desirable.For this position we offer:
Salary between $66,856.61 to $72,843.44 per annum; Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight; 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading; 12% super (in accordance with policy); RDO’s in accordance with Council policy.Position Description Apply Here
