Shire of Ashburton have confirmed that works will commence next week to upgrade Tom Price Tennis Club.
Shire President Kerry White acknowledged she was pleased to see another of the Shire’s budgeted commitments for this year get off the ground.
“The upgrade to the tennis courts in Tom Price is a great project for the community” said Cr White.
“The concept design was awarded to All Aspect Design earlier this year with the construction contract recently awarded to Neowest, who will take over the site next week, enabling them to commence their work schedule.
“The Tom Price Tennis Courts upgrade will add additional features and upgrades to the current facilities including the existing three courts which present as trip hazards and non-conforming groundwork.
“The upgrade will include onsite ablutions, new clubhouse, undercover area, storage shed, sandpit and landscaping.
“It is anticipated that the new tennis facility will be completed March 2021 and be readily available to the community and Tom Price Tennis Club”.
Tom Price Tennis Club will continue their Hot Shots program for children at the Recreation Centre for term 4.
Last week the Shire announced the securing of funding that would see an extension project to Onslow Gym and One Tree Childcare centre come to fruition once the tender is awarded at next Ordinary Meeting of Council in October.
