On Tuesday 1st September a group of ladies jumped on board the Shire of Coolgardie community bus with driver Allan Lindup and made their way to Warden finnertys residence in Coolgardie for Devonshire tea.
It was going to take more than the miserable weather on the day to have these ladies change their minds.
To be warmly greeted at Warden Finnertys by host Joy Harwood and taken into the beautiful historic home was breath taking.
While enjoying the warmth of the dining room with friends over a cuppa, Vic Dale, local stalwart came and joined them and shared some Coolgardie history followed by a short tour around the township.
Previous Coolgardie resident Sylvia Williams 84yo now residing in Kambalda also shared about her old stomping grounds in her earlier days.
Thank you to the following people who helped make this an enjoyable and successful day - Allan Lindup, Joy Harwood, Vic Dale and let’s not forget the ladies on the day.
Finnerty’s Devonshire Tea is open to the public from Saturday to Wednesday 11.00 am – 4.00 pm closed Thursdays & Fridays. For more information contact the Coolgardie Visitors Centre on 9026 6090.
