Limit Water Usage during Essential Planned Works for Moranbah Water Treatment Plant

Isaac Regional Council is urging Moranbah residents to limit their water usage from 22 September 2020 through to 6 October 2020, while essential works at the Moranbah Water Treatment Plant on the Clarifier Remediation Project take place.

For the Clarifier Remediation works to be completed effectively, the Clarifier will be taken off-line. This may result in a reduction of water production for use in households and businesses in Moranbah.

Council is calling on residents to be water conscious and limit their non-essential water usage activity during this time. The quality of town drinking water will not be impacted.

The planned work is essential to be completed to ensure Council assets are in place to continue to deliver quality drinking water for the Moranbah community.

Residents are asked to consider water conservation measures in their household and/or businesses:

Do not use handheld hoses between 9am-5pm daily. Do not use fixed sprinklers, micro-spray, drip irrigation systems nor unattended hoses between 9am-5pm daily. Limit shower times.

Council reminds residents that the parks and green spaces are maintained using recycled water, which is separate to the town’s drinking water.
