A significant footpath renewal program for Tom Price will commence early next week.
Tom Price community members are advised that the program will start on Monday 21 September and continue for five weeks.
Shire of Ashburton President Kerry White acknowledged that the renewal and footpath completion works would contribute greatly to pedestrian safety and usability for around the Tom Price township.
“These works will see the completion of a number of footpaths, completing loops and providing better accessibility for community members to get out and about in Tom Price.
“Earlier this year the Shire received a substantial grant through the WA Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program made available by the Federal Government as part of COVID-19 recovery and assistance.
“With this funding we have been able to include significant stretches of footpaths in Tom Price.
“It includes a new footpath that links Jacaranda Drive with Willow Road and Stadium Road, Willow Road down East Road to the golf course and completion of the path at ANZAC Memorial Park.
“Affected residents will be receiving a letter-drop notification in the coming days.
“When completed, this program will have installed an additional 15km of footpath around Tom Price”.
