Lachlan Shire Council is seeking community feedback on the design for the Shire’s new Visitor Information Centre.
The centre is to be built within the Condobolin tourism precinct, which also includes the Utes in the Paddock display. It is being funded by a $10.1million grant to bolster tourism and transport in the Shire, with Council contributing a further $2.6million for roadwork on Gipps Way to the project. Over $3million allocated for the Visitor Centre work with the grant funding recently announced by Nationals Upper House MP Sam Farraway.
The Visitor Information Centre will promote local and regional products, tourist attractions and experiences to encourage tourists to stay in the shire for longer.
The proposed designs for the Centre are available for viewing on Council’s website at https://www.lachlan.nsw.gov.au/f.ashx/CONDOBOLIN-VIC-precedent-slides_with-words.pdf and at Council Offices. They will also be on physical display at the Shire’s towns and villages in post offices, grocery stores and supermarkets, pubs and community noticeboards.
Once the preferred design has been selected by the public, an architect will be engaged to prepare detailed design and construction drawings for the preferred design.
If you would like to help make the selection, there is an online survey which can be accessed at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZNQ38SK
There is also an opportunity on the survey to provide feedback on the proposed designs.
You can also let us know your thoughts by dropping into Council’s offices, mailing your response to PO Box 216, Condobolin, NSW 2877 or emailing it to [email protected]
