People can now recognise the tireless work of Campbelltown’s many volunteers by nominating them in the annual Gift of Time awards.
Every year, thousands of volunteers across Campbelltown give up their personal time to ensure community organisations, sporting clubs, school P&Cs and other groups are able to operate.
Due to COVID health restrictions, an award ceremony will not be held this year and recipients will instead be sent a certificate in the mail.
Award recipients will also be recognised across Council’s social media channels during International Volunteer Day on Saturday 5 December.
“Campbelltown is made up of many different organisations who are kept alive by the hard work of volunteers who give up significant portions of their own time to ensure these organisations keep operating for the benefit of our community,” Mayor George Brticevic said.
“The work of these volunteers has been made especially challenging during the COVID health situation and it has been amazing to see how many of our volunteer organisations have responded during these difficult times,” Cr Brticevic said.
“There are a number of volunteer-led organisations in Campbelltown which provide vital social support and food security services to our community who have risen to the challenges presented by COVID over these past few months and I really encourage people to nominate these organisations and their volunteers for a Gift of Time award,” Cr Brticevic said.
Nominations close 10 November 2020.
