Toowoomba Regional Council will soon commence work on footpath and cycleway connectivity at Krause Court, adjacent to the East Creek channel.

TRC Infrastructure Services Group Portfolio Leader Cr Melissa Taylor said the upgrade would include connecting the footpaths at the corner of James Street and Kitchener Street.

“Council expects construction to be completed by late November, weather permitting,” Cr Taylor said.

“Council’s works tie in with the East Creek culvert upgrades on James Street, recently completed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

“The project includes reconfiguring the turnaround area on Krause Court, construction of a new kerb and drainage pit, installation of car parking bays as well as tree planting and turfing.

Cr Melissa Taylor said that, when completed, the project would connect the East Creek pathways as well as widening the footpath in Krause Court.

“Council supports active transport, and the completed project would see the footpaths connected on this popular walking track and cycleway,” Cr Taylor said.

“With the recent appointment of a new Regional Active and Public Transport Committee, I look forward to creating more opportunities for walking and cycling in our Region.”

“Construction work will take place generally between the hours of 6.30 am – 6.30 pm on weekdays, and we apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during construction.

“Council will seek to minimise any community impacts and thanks the community for their patience and co-operation during these works.”
