This week, Gympie Regional Council road construction crews began widening parts of Nash Road, Tamaree.
The project will widen a 300m long section of Nash Road from Ces Rivers Road to Quinlan Road, to a 7m, two lane, sealed standard road.
Infrastructure Services Portfolio Councillor, Warren Polley, said the project would “significantly improve the safety and useability of Nash Road.”
“Our road network is a focus of this Council,” Cr Polley said.
“Projects like this, where we are making a stretch of road safer and more user friendly, is what we mean when we say getting back to basics and delivering vital services to this community.”
“Nash Road has a relatively high traffic volume which adds more weight to this project’s value,” he said.
This project is budgeted at $70,000 and fully funded by developer contributions.
