On Friday 11th September the Kambalda Community Resource assisted Kambalda Primary School with the annual King and Queen of the Mountain event by providing fresh fruit for the students at the top of the hill and this was apart of ‘Walk Safely to School Day’ with one of the objectives to promote the health benefits of walking and creating regular walking habits.

On the day you could not have asked for more perfect weather to be running up Red Hill and to be crowned Dutch, Duchess, Prince, Princess and King and Queen depending on your age group.

The students all set off from the bottom of Red Hill to run/ walk their way to the top. Their determination was to be recognized. Shire of Coolgardie representative Leesa Treen was also seen running with the students and encouraging them as they all ran together.

It was great to see a huge turnout of supporters from families, friends & neighbours.

Thank you to the Kambalda Police for their presence in assisting with road safety for all students participating.
