An exciting opportunity has risen for a suitably qualified and experienced fixed term full-time Pool Coordinator to join the team at the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre. The Pool Coordinator will report to the Program Leader Leased Council Facilities and will provide leadership and oversight of the team and our local community, responsible for all aquatic programs ensuring the portfolio is high performing in areas of program quality, participation and safety.

You will be confident in daily water quality management, lifeguard supervision and dealing with emergency situations. Working closely with the Program Leader Leased Council Facilities, you will need to be a strong communicator and have the ability to lead the team through the challenges of a fast-paced environment driving overall success of our aquatic programs.

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

Demonstrated experience of effectively coordinating the day-to-day operation and promotion of a pool complex, by delivering quality and professional customer service. The ability to lead, inspire and motivate the teams to do their best by promoting a culture of continuous learning and development. Experience in the aquatics or recreation industry, including swimming lessons or aquatic programs is highly desired and will greatly support success within the role. Demonstrated experience in the provision of customer service and a full understanding of excellent customer service and commitment to its delivery; The ability to provide adequate supervision of aquatic facilities to ensure safety of all facility users; Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and volunteers, including training, work planning organizing, scheduling and coordinating. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate, negotiate, network and consult as required; Current certification in: First Aid and CPR; Lifeguard;  Working with Children Blue Card. Willingness to work flexible hours as required, incorporating weekends and public holidays.

For this position we offer:

Hourly rate between $38.64 - $41.71 Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight; 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading; 12% Super in accordance with Council Policy; RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy; Contract until 4 December 2020.​​​​​​​
