Urgent Closure of Skelly Road, Lidsdale

Council staff investigated a road surface fault in Skelly Road, Lidsdale, between Wolgan Road and Neubek Street. Further inspection revealed a collapsed storm water pipe which connects storm water headwalls located on each side of the road. Unfortunately the collapsed pipe has resulted in failure of the road surface and the road has been closed in the interest of public safety. Detours will be in place until repair works are complete.
Council staff will excavate the road and replace the failed pipe with a suitable replacement product.
The patience of affected residents and motorists is appreciated and Council advises that changed traffic conditions detours must be observed whilst travelling through the area.
Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
