Residents and families can now enjoy three new and modern-style playgrounds at various locations across the city.

A new playground opened at Byrne Reserve, St Andrews last week and replacement playgrounds were completed at Mandurama Reserve, Ambarvale and Ashfield Reserve, Glen Alpine this week.

The new playgrounds include a combination of modern play equipment, landscaping works and new seating areas as well as shade sails.

“I’m particularly excited to see a new playground at Byrne Reserve which is a central location for St Andrews residents and easily accessible over the Hume Highway bridge in Raby,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“Throughout the COVID health situation we’ve been able to get on with the job of building important community infrastructure such as these playgrounds to encourage families to get outdoors and get active, particularly as we head into summer,” Cr Brticevic said.
