Learner drivers are a step closer to getting on the road with the Corangamite Shire VicRoads Agency now reopened.
Following the easing of coronavirus restrictions in regional Victoria, VicRoads resumed licence testing late last month. New drivers can take their Learner’s Permit tests at the Civic Centre in Camperdown.
Council Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mason said the Civic Centre offered certain VicRoads services at the front counter.
Accepting licence renewal payments, number plate returns, and Driver's Work Diaries resumed in June after the coronavirus shutdown.
“We’re pleased to have these services back because we know how important independent transport is in isolated farming communities,” Mr Mason said.
“It can make all the difference in employment opportunities, safety and social connections as well as day to day business.
“If you want to take a Learner's Permit test, call our Customer Relations team and make an appointment for a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. They will tell you what you need to bring.
“Our Officers can also take payments and photos for car and boat licence renewals.
“For all other services, you will need to attend a VicRoads Customer Services Centre or call the VicRoads Call Centre on 13 11 71.”
Council can also take photos for firearms licences that have been pre-paid through Westpac or BPay.
