Community groups can now access Campbelltown Cares grants of up to $2000 to help residents in need of emergency support measures due to the ongoing COVID-19 health situation.
The grants are available to organisations who have created programs responding to social issues in the community, particularly those addressing social isolation issues.
Mayor George Brticevic encouraged community groups to apply for the grants.
“We’ve heard from many of our local community groups about the struggles faced by some in our community, particularly those susceptible to social isolation such as seniors, people with disability and culturally and linguistically diverse people,” Cr Brticevic said.
“We have many amazing organisations who support people in our community who are experiencing difficulties due to the COVID situation and these grants will go towards helping those organisations carry out their work,” he said.
Key funding priorities include programs that address:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders community wellbeing Addressing social isolation issues within the community (Seniors, CALD and people with disability) Domestic violence Food Security Homelessness Refugee, migrants and asylum seekers Targeted activities reducing issues related to youth isolation and disengagementThe grants program is open until Thursday, 5 November and applicant’s programs must commence within two to four weeks of receiving the funds.
