These were some of the social comments for the Manly Jazz Festival on the Labour Day long weekend, which for the first time was an online experience.
Social distancing restrictions did not faze jazz fans who tuned in online for over 6,000 views and 520-plus hours watching time.
Musical Director Caroline Speight said the 43rd Manly Jazz Festival will be remembered as an historic event that built a sense of unity that was evident in the online environment over the weekend.
“It has always been a wonderful community event and I was proud of what we achieved as audiences tuned in from all over the world,” Ms Speight said.
“It brought a sense of goodwill and gratefulness among the musicians and lifted the community spirits.
“Thank you to the artists who brought their hope, joy and energy to bring Manly Jazz Online to life.”
Manly Jazz online ran from Saturday, 3 October through Monday, 5 October, 2020 and saw over 35 bands play. If you missed out, artist videos can still be viewed.
