‘UNBOXED 20:20’ – the work of the latest wave of emerging artists to graduate from Coffs Harbour TAFE – will go on show at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery from Saturday, 31 October.
“The Coffs Coast Region is home to a thriving arts scene with a culturally diverse community,” said Coffs Harbour Mayor Councillor Denise Knight. “And Council has a deep appreciation of TAFE’s important place in our community – particularly in the ongoing development of our region’s creative industries and the talented people who are at its heart.
“I’d urge everyone to come along to see ‘UNBOXED 20:20’ to really appreciate the wealth of young local talent we are lucky to have in our midst.”
‘UNBOXED 20:20’ showcases the diverse work of creative industry graduates from Coffs Harbour TAFE. The campus, through its Creative and Design Ideation program, offers qualifications from Certificates, to Diplomas and Advanced Diploma courses in an exciting variety of creative disciplines including Furniture Design, Visual Arts, Applied Fashion Design, Ceramics, Photography, Music, Screen and Media.
“Not only is this an important milestone in the graduates’ professional development, this year’s exhibition is an opportunity for local emerging artists and TAFE students to demonstrate their artistic commitment and tenacity in these uncertain pandemic times,” said Cath Fogarty, Council’s Cultural Development Gallery and History Services Coordinator.
“As one of the few creative campuses in Regional NSW, the TAFE provides access to highly skilled and experienced local professionals who are nurturing the next wave of Coffs Harbour talent.”
Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery has a strong relationship with TAFE NSW following the success of their 2019 exhibition in the pop-up gallery in Coffs Central.
‘UNBOXED 20:20’ is on show at the Regional Gallery from 31 October until 21 November 2020. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, the Gallery is currently open from Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and from 9.30am until 12noon on Saturdays.
