Ready, set, go – feedback opens for Cooma Sports Hub project

The Cooma Sports Hub project presents an exciting opportunity to enhance grassroots sport in the Snowy Monaro and provide a state-of-the-art precinct capable of hosting regional level events.
The $15 million facility will feature a three-court indoor sport facility at Monaro High School and a synthetic athletics track and field at Snowy Oval.
Once complete, the new facility will host basketball, netball, athletics, Australian rules football, cricket and many more sports.
“Our community will play an important part in the facility coming to fruition. Throughout the delivery of the Cooma Sports Hub project we will provide regular updates and offer our community numerous opportunities to provide feedback,” Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor Peter Beer said.
Council is working with the NSW Office of Sport, NSW Schools Infrastructure, Monaro High School and the community to deliver this project.
Feedback for the first round of consultation closes Friday 30 October.
How can you have your say? To help guide the project team, Council is calling on the community to provide their thoughts on the scope of the project and the specific sports/activities you would like included in the new facilities.
A concept design and survey have been released. Both are available at Your Say Snowy Monaro, or at any Council office, library or visitors centre. The concept plan shows the proposed location of the following facilities: •Current sports ground at Monaro High School •Proposed new, indoor three-court sports facility •Existing outdoor netball courts •Existing tennis courts •Proposed synthetic athletics track •Proposed Australian rules football and cricket oval
