41017 - Manager Rates & Accounts, Isaac Region

About the Position

Isaac Regional Council (IRC) is seeking a highly motivated Manager Rates & Accounts to join its Corporate, Governance and Financial Services Directorate for a five (5) year fixed term full time contract, based within the Isaac Region.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Services (CFO), this position is responsible for the day to day management and development of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Revenue & Ratings team.  The position will work as a strategic partner with the Financial Service’s Department to drive the development and strength of the business services functions.

About You

We are seeking an enegertic Manager who excels in providing strong leadership, aligns to IRC values, vision and mission and has a desire to deliver. 

Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting or related field and/or demonstrated experience (3+ years) in a similar position; Experience in providing leadership and management of branch functions and activities, including the ability to identify community and customer needs, strategy and policy development, establishing performance standards and monitoring and reporting on performance. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, written, & verbal communication skills Knowledge of relevant State and Local Government Legislation & Regulations and Australian Accounting Standards relevant to Local Government Rates and Revenue issues; Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes with high emphasis on timeliness, quality and accuracy. High level knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly excel; A track record of building a positive performance focused workforce culture. Experience within a Local Government Environment would be highly regarded. You will require a current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence.
