Since 20 October, Atitjere has a new Aged Care Centre. Central Desert Regional Council (CDRC) president Adrian Dixon cut the ribbon last week at the opening of the new facility (pictured).
Without a facility, Aged Care could only provide home care services for their thirteen clients from Atitjere and the outstations of Irrelirre (No 5) and Mt Eagle Beak. Now it is able to provide meals, laundry, transport, centre base respite, personal care, domestic assistant and group activities.
In a speech at the opening, CDRC CEO Diane Hood said, “This is an excellent facility, with good outdoor and indoor space for seniors. Thank you to all the local people and CDRC staff who helped make this happen!”
CDRC Aged Care Services Manager Marlin de Silva and her team organised a celebration for the opening which included healthy food and a get together, it was well received by all!
