Roof repair works will commence on the Karingal Neighbourhood Centre in Paraburdoo on Monday 26 October.
The centre, which houses valuable community services such as Centrelink and Medicare, will have existing roof sheeting replaced. Insulation will also be upgraded to achieve an “R” rating, which indicates a resistance to heat transfer. The final construction is designed to be leak-proof, weather-resistant and require minimal ongoing maintenance. This will result in a more comfortable environment for community members who use the centre.
The Shire has committed $300,000 to the project, which forms part of our capital expenditure schedule of works for the 2020/21 financial year.
The estimated project completion date is 15 November 2020. Alternative arrangements have been made for occupants and patrons until works are finalised.
