Do you think we can improve community engagement?
Bayside City Council 27 Oct 2020

Community engagement means being part of the conversations that influence decisions and make Bayside a better place to live, work and play.

We want to hear from a diverse mix of voices to ensure our decisions are fair, informed, and consider community views.

Improving how we include our community in decision making starts with reviewing our Community and Stakeholder Engagement Policy. This document sets the rules for when, why and how we’ll ask what you think about a wide variety of topics so you can contribute to and influence Council decisions.

As part of this policy review, we must adopt five engagement principles set by the new Local Government Act 2020. The principles aren’t negotiable, but how we define and apply them is.

Tell us what you think about our new principles and commitments for community engagement.

We’ll use your feedback on the principles to draft a new Community and Stakeholder Engagement Policy. Then, you’ll have another opportunity to share your thoughts when we consult on the draft policy in December 2020/January 2021.
