Following the great news on the further easing of COVID-19 restrictions, we are preparing for the changes affecting our community, local businesses and Council services.
From tonight, 11.59pm Tuesday 27 October, we will move from “stay home” to “stay safe” restrictions including:
No restrictions on the reasons to leave home Bayside’s cafes, restaurants and pubs can reopen with a limit of 50 patrons outdoors and 20 indoors with density limits applied Remaining retail and beauty and personal care services can reopen Outdoor contact sport for under 18s and non-contact sport for adults can recommence Outdoor events can recommence at community centres and libraries.The 25km rule and mandatory wearing of masks remain in place. Changes to Council servicesBayside’s Customer Service Counter at 76 Royal Avenue will reopen for face to face visits from tomorrow, Wednesday 28 October 1-4pm.
We will also provide access to sportsgrounds for seasonal sports clubs following the go ahead from the relevant sporting associations.
Our work with local businesses to expand outdoor trading areas to assist with the reopening of retail, cafes and restaurants is well underway. This includes extending fee waivers for food, health and street trading permits for a full 12 months until June 2021. Find out more here.
We are also providing a 100% fee waiver for open space/trainer permits for local commercial gyms, Pilates and yoga studios to operate in our parks.
