A new skate park at Loyola Reserve is now complete.
The $345,000 Wyndham City project, which is open to the public, includes beginner and intermediate ramps, new concreted areas, landscaping, seats and a new water fountain.
Wyndham City Director of City Life, Allison Kenwood, said the new facilities would cater for skaters and scooter riders with beginner to intermediate skill levels.
“This new skate park complements the multi-purpose court, playground and BBQ facilities already at Loyola Reserve, offering a place for skaters and scooter riders to develop their skills,” Ms Kenwood said.
“This project came about as a result of advocacy by local children and teens, who wanted an easily accessible skate park in the Werribee area.”
“Now more than ever, it is important that Wyndham families have access to great open spaces close to home – and Loyola Reserve and the new skate park delivers just that.”
“I encourage families to come to Loyola Reserve and make the most of the new skate park, BBQ and other facilities, while observing current COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing.”
This project was supported by a $100,000 Sport and Recreation Victoria grant.
