Round 5 of the Community Catch-up sessions will kick-off at Bemboka on 8 November with Council supporting community-led events across five locations.
The sessions continue to evolve based on community need with a continued focus on helping people through the bushfire recovery process and bringing communities together.
“As communities across the Shire move through recovery, each is taking the lead on putting together events with their own local flavour. Many are aligned with existing community events or celebrations at times chosen to suit most people,” Council’s Community Development and Engagement Coordinator, Scott Baker said.
“These events are an opportunity for the community to catch-up, celebrate one another and key volunteers, and connect with support organisations and the valuable information they have to share.”
The Community Catch-up sessions start Sunday 8 November and run through to early December at the following venues:
Bemboka Hall/ 8 November / 11am-2pm Quaama Hall / 15 November / 12noon-2pm Cobargo School of Arts / 17 November / 2pm-5pm Wyndham Hall / 22 November / 8:30am-1pm Kiah RFS Shed / 3 December / 2pm-5pmWonboyn and Towamba held significant thank you events for volunteers as part of the last round of community catch-ups, and these communities have decided to sit out this next round while resources and need is assessed.
No registration is required, just turn up, catch-up and chat with some like-minded people in your community.
