Essential sewer works at Suffolk Park

Suffolk Park residents are asked to allow some extra time to get to school or work from 6 November when Council starts work on the upgrade of two sewer pump stations.

One of the pump stations is on Broken Head Road and from two weeks (6 November – 20 November 2020) there will be traffic diversions in place while the work is being done.

Council’s Principal Engineer, Dean Baulch, said both lanes will remain open but traffic will be slow through the work zone which will be felt by drivers.

“We apologise for any impact this might have on people but this upgrade to the sewer pump station is critical for residents of Suffolk Park,” he said.

The main sewer pump station (3008) at the rear of Teak Circuit, Suffolk Park will also be upgraded with this work planned for 2 November – 13 November.

Some work will be done at night, from 10pm - 6am on Wednesday 4 November.

“The night works are planned because we need to minimise the volume and flow of sewerage to the pump station and the best time to do this is at night,” Mr Baulch said.

There will be some noise for nearby residents but staff will be working as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption.

Access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained.
