Improving our recycling habits will be a focus of this year’s National Recycling Week with Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s Resource and Waste Education Team hosting a series of information displays to boost our community’s recycling efforts.
Pop-up-stalls will be held for Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week with the education team looking forward to finding out how well our community is recycling and to provide residents with advice on reducing waste going to landfill.
Our education team will be on hand for a friendly chat about common recycling habits, tips to improve these habits and how we can reduce our overall waste.
Now in its 25th year, Planet Ark's National Recycling Week runs from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 November 2020. The week provides an important opportunity for councils, workplaces, schools and individuals to improve their recycling knowledge, build better recycling habits and build trust in recycling. To learn more about recycling, you can visit our education officers in the following locations: •Cooma, outside Centennial Plaza on Sharp Street – Monday 9 November from 10am – 2pm •Jindabyne, Nuggets Crossing Courtyard – Wednesday 11 November from 10am – 2pm •Bombala, in front of the IGA – Friday 13 November 10am – 2pm
Not only will a chat with our education team help improve your recycling methods, there is also an opportunity to win a prize pack allowing you to practice the 5 Rs (refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle) at home.
To go in the running to win the prize pack, you need to complete a survey available at each pop-up-stall, online at Your Say Snowy Monaro or at each Council office. The survey will check-in on how we are recycling with the education team to use the results to help future educational campaigns.
